Lose Weight Quick for Your Special Day

So your big day is fast approaching, whether is your wedding, birthday, prom or graduation, you want to look your best on the day, and you have less than a month! OMG!!

Don’t panic, take a deep breath, Here are my top 10 tips to help you lose weight quick so that you can look good and feel good on the special day!

1) Avoid gas producing food

Gas producing food will cause bloatedness and the unpleasent smell. That means no brocolli, cauliflower, beans, soda drink, which also means no diet soda and even dairy and milk based food for those who are lactose intolerance.

2) Cut down on your salt intake

High salt intake causes bloating and retains water in your body, which holds the extra weight. So be good, no ready meals, which are exremeltly high in sodium, no junk food and no process food at all! Eat clean and be good.

3) Reduce excessive amounts of carbs

Reduce excessive amounts of carbs since 1 gram of carbohydrate can hold onto to 4 to 5 grams of water. So limit your carbs to a small portion if you need and consume it, only have it at breakfast time.

4) Consume natural diuretic food and drinks

Incorporate foods with diuretic properties, which help to get rid of excess water in the body through urination. So to avoid water retention, eat leafy green veggies and fruits like asparagus, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, lemon and many more. And start your day by drinking natural diuretic drinks like Apple Cider Vinegar, Coffee or Green Tea, which is my favourite. If you can, drink a cup of Green Tea every morning before you start your day because it will help you to get rid of excess water in your body.

5) Drink lots of water

Drink lots of water throughout the day, at least 2.5 litres. It is because water helps to detox your body and flush out all of the sodium in your body. So what I tend to do is drink about half litres of water in the start of my day and the best way is to have a bottle of with you throughout the day and aim to drink half a litre every 3 – 4 hours.

6) Reduce eating Red Meat

Tip number 6 is to cut down on red meat because it is harder for our body to digest. Instead opt for chicken, fish, eggs or tofu, which are rich in protein and easy to digest.

7) Snack on Egg White

Snack on the white of the hardboiled egg when you are hungry. It’s an excellent protein source and keeps you satisfied for longer. People who have eggs in their breakfast lose much more weight that cereals or toast.

8) Lay off alcohol

Cut alcohol out completely if you can. Not only alcohol is high in calories, Alcohol can also cause your face to look bloated and puffy. You might find it bloats your stomach too. Beer, cider and fizzy mixers are the worst culprits because of the gas they contain. So lay off the booze.

9) Get enough of Sleep

The next is a command, I command you to Get enough of sleep. I do not care how much you need to do in a day, it is my command for you to get between 7 – 8 hours of sleep a day. Sleeping reduces stress and reduces your hunger. On the other hand, if you don’t get enough of sleep, your body will feel lethargic and prompt your appetitive to eat more. So, it’s time to get your beauty sleep.

10) Quick and intense workout daily. Only 10-15 minutes.

My last tip is to exercise almost daily. Your exercise routine doesn’t have to be a long one, if you can incorporate 10 – 15mins of intense workout a day, you notice a difference and thank yourself on your big day. Check out my Workout With Me videos to help you start. (10 – 15mins / day)
