Happy New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai everyone! A lot of you have been commenting that I look a lot leaner towards the end of last year and you’ve been asking what I have done differently. The truth is, I haven’t been exercising more than usual or being overly strict with my diet. Come on, it was the holiday season! However, I’ve being paying more attention to what I fuel myself with prior and after my workout.

Before this, I’ve never really given much thoughts about how fueling my body could make a huge difference to my workout performance and also results. As a matter of fact, it does! Nowadays, I’d consume a serving of protein shake combined with milk immediately after my workout. And sometimes, when I need to, I’d also consume one serving of green smoothie prior to working out to give me enough energy to perform my best. If I workout in the morning, then I do enjoy adding milk into my overnight oats and even coffee for that extra energy boost.

You must be thinking, aren’t you lactose intolerant? Yes, I am! Being lactose intolerant means I’ll feel extremely bloated and suffer abdominal discomfort after consuming milk. Lactose intolerance means the body cannot easily digest lactose, a type of natural sugar found in milk and dairy products. While there are several lactose-free milk brands in the market, I personally enjoy the very nutritious, very super Marigold HL Low Fat Milk since I was young. It is high in calcium and protein and low in fat. This super milk has 64% less lactose, 36% more calcium, 74% less fat and 52% more protein compared to a regular milk and is fortified with nine essential vitamins- A, B1, B3, B6, B12, C, D3, E and Folic Acid. This low-lactose milk makes it much easier for my body to digest and for me to still gain the health benefits of regular milk.

Marigold HL Low Fat Milk provides a wide range of health benefits and helps in improving our bone health because it offers a rich source of calcium. Lack of calcium may cause osteoporosis, a bone disease that occurs when the body loses too much bone. By including Marigold HL Low Fat Milk in your diet, you will be able to reduce the possibility of osteoporosis as it contains 25% more calcium and 52% more protein than other milk and is fortified with Vitamin D3 which helps make bones stronger and repair muscle tissue, especially after a workout.

A balanced diet will include consumption of other nutritious food as well to get the best nutrition. Go for foods like dark leafy greens, tofu, avocado and almonds. Look for sources like salmon and whole eggs. Be creative and look for ways that you can incorporate Marigold HL Low Fat Milk into your diet. For example, you can use it as an ingredient in your meal. Try adding Marigold HL Low Fat Milk into your breakfast by making overnight oatmeal, chia pudding or blend into smoothies, milkshakes, baked goods or even soups. If you are not fond of the plain taste, go for the chocolate or strawberry flavours – these flavours work wonders when blended with bananas or fresh berries. Trust me; the end result is a satisfying and delicious beverage that you will want to make again and again J
