I remember 6 years ago when I was working in London as a TV producer and had the chance to interview a really successful entrepreneur / businesswoman. I asked her, what does it mean to be successful? She said success has nothing to do with accomplishments, wealth or power, it's about sowing seeds that would help others.

Despite her busy schedule, she told me that she'd consciously set 1 hour aside every day to meet, talk or listen to people who seeks her advice or guidance. I guess I was that young lucky girl who got one-hour of her time that day.

"It's easy to shut people off especially where you're so busy and have "no time", but just imagine the impact and influence you can have on the lives of others, if you were to open up and spare just one-hour. TIME is the most valuable thing you can give someone because you're giving them part of you that you'll never get back". That was one of the most valuable lessons I've learnt and remembered till this day.

Yi Chien initially applied for the mentor-mentee programme but she didn't get it. She was extremely determine and wrote to me (more like spamming my instagram account for days, haha) because she truly wanted to learn from me. I'm a believer that if you want something bad enough, you'd go out there and make it happen, which she did. So I replied to her eventually met up for coffee and she came in and interned for 2 weeks after she completed her studies. She's a star.
